Europapa, Droom Groot and the Songs Behind the Designs

· Style & Merch

Most of the designs in this shop start with a song. Here are the ones behind them, and what each design shows.

What is Droom Groot?

"Droom Groot" came out in 2023. It means "dream big". The design spells JOOST KLEIN DROOM GROOT in tall, swirly blue letters, four words stacked on top of each other.

Why Europapa?

"Europapa" came out on 29 February 2024. It was the Dutch entry for Eurovision 2024, and it went to number one in the Dutch Top 40 and the Single Top 100. In 2025 it won Song of the Year at the Friese Pop Awards.

Two designs come from it:

  • The blue suit: me crouching in the big-shouldered cobalt suit, under JOOST in tall serif letters and Klein in white script.
  • The stars: a ring of twelve yellow stars with 2024 - 2025 underneath.

What about the portrait?

My face, glasses and tartan tie in deep blue, with JOOST KLEIN running down the side, Made in the Netherlands, europapa in a box and a little globe.

Which other songs should I know?

Friesenjung (2023): with Ski Aggu and Otto Waalkes. It went to number one in Germany.

Luchtballon (2024): "hot air balloon" in Dutch.

Trafik! (2024): with Käärijä.

Why Not??? (2025): the newest of the bunch.

Did Europapa go on tour?

Yes. The Europapa Tour ran from 20 February to 5 April 2025, with 17 stops across Europe and North America.

Which design should I pick?

Go big: the blue suit, front and centre.

Go simple: the Droom Groot lettering.

Go subtle: the twelve stars.

All of them are in the shop, on tees, hoodies and more.
